Search for post-doc researcher for computational physics and
materials science
The Computational Physics Group (led by Prof. Noejung Park, noejung@unist.ac.kr)
in the Department of Physics at UNIST, Ulsan, Republic of Korea, is seeking post
doctoral researchers.
Our group has been developing and working on ab initio real-time time-dependent
density functional theory (TDDFT), mainly focusing on charge and spin currents in
topological materials. We are recently extending our work to open quantum
systems, and are currently developing an ab initio density-matrix time-evolution
code as an extension of real-time TDDFT. Our primary research aim is the ab initio
evaluation of steady-state currents in solids, together with capturing decoherence
processes of these steady currents. We are also interested in orbital-free density
functional theory based on machine-predicted charge densities. Candidates
interested in this topic are also encouraged to apply.
For the contract, the initial appointment will be one or two years, with the possibility
of extension. A Ph.D. in physics, chemistry, materials science, or a related field is
required. Experience in standard density functional theory calculations, including
Wannierization-based post-processing for Berry-curvature-related properties, is
also welcome.
